K2 is the implementation plan for The Learnasium Program for 2011. Through this program, ONE THOUSAND under-privileged children studying in schools run by government or NGOs will be signed-up into The Learnasium Program, wherein, these students will be trained to master the English Vocabulary.
The plan will simultaneously aim to sign up another THOUSAND students from the affluent demography who will undergo the exact same training.
The students in the program in the “under-privileged” category do not pay any fees for the training, however, the students in the “affluent” category pay Rs. 250 per student per month. The fees from the “affluent” category helps pay for the expenses incurred for the program and also keep the program on a long-term sustainable path.
The Atlanta Foundation will provide training-support with online / traditional learning resources (e.g. work-sheets & on-line games, etc.); provide the field support (e.g. tutors and instructors); and administrative-support (e.g. progress tracking, technical support, etc.) throughout the lifecycle of the program.

How do we know the program is successful?

Simple – on 26-January-2012, these two-thousand students will compete on a set of vocabulary tests and prove their proficiency. The winning students will take home such attractive - yet helpful - prizes that the contest in itself will become a big motivator for the students as well as the mentors helping students achieve the world-class proficiency in English Vocabulary.

Current Status on signing up the students -
Underprivileged -
Affluent -

  How can I help?

    - Sign up the “right” students – both in under-privileged & the affluent category
  - Volunteer to teach – be it just one module or the entire set, it helps to have motivated volunteers
lead the teaching and training efforts
  - Participate in activities conducted to enrich and improve the learning content – e.g. videos that demonstrate
the use of words learned in a certain module, Quality review of work-sheets, etc.
  - There are many more exciting opportunities and we can always discuss those as we move on …
